I do! I do! A while back I was sent some of the purples range of Scheepjes new Wanderlust yarns to play with and they are super pretty. I immediately knew which ones I liked best (the two on the right oops, left!) and started hatching a plan for what to make.
Left to right: Rio de Janeiro (453), Las Vegas (458), Paris (466), Havana (454), Chicago (465)

This is an incredibly soft 100% acrylic yarn which comes in 19 different self striping colour combinations. You can see the full details in the Scheepjes poster below:
As I was messing about with this yarn, I came up with an idea I really wanted to make with it. I’ve been trying out a lot of different stitches lately as I am eager to learn more and see how a lot of the stitches I like work. I figured one way to put them to good use is to use it to test out some of these new yarns. I knew right away what one I wanted to try with this yarn and after a few rows, I was in love. I won’t share that just yet, but I will share the yarn I chose to use.
I went with Rio de Janeiro (453) as it just stood out to me from the start. Actually, that’s sort of a lie, I also very nearly went for Las Vegas (458) but the Rio won out in the end, because I love the colour combinations and I’m a huge fan of purple and green together. I ordered a few extra balls, as I’m pretty sure my idea will take at least three in the end, but I wanted to make sure I had enough in case I decide to add to it later.
I’ll be honest, in the bigger picture, I’m not a huge fan of acrylic yarns. Not because I’m a yarn snob, that’s not it at all. I couldn’t give a toss if something is made of acrylic, wool, cotton, bamboo, or even dog hair, as long as it looks and feels nice. In my experience, most acrylic yarn has a squeaky feeling that makes my teeth itch, I just can’t stand it. This doesn’t have that, though, thank gawd. It’s really soft and I’m able to knit with it for a long time without getting that nails on a chalkboard feeling I’ve gotten from some other acrylics.
Anyway, that’s what’s going on here at the moment! Chilling out in front of the fire and working on this new project. I haven’t forgotten some I’ve mentioned previously, and they are still on the agenda, but I got sidetracked, what can I say… if you’ve been around here long enough you know I’m absolutely crap with deadlines!
I should have some sneak peeks of this project soon. Until then, if you want to check out Wanderlust for yourself, you can get your hands on it internationally via WoolWarehouse* or your local Scheepjes retailer!
