This weekend the guy came to look at our bathroom again and start the process of renovating it. Our bathroom really isn’t that big, it’s just the shower and sink really.. because here in NL they usually have the toilet seperate. We needed 15 square meters of tiles, if that gives you any idea of the size.
Anyhow we went to the store so I could pick out what tiles I wanted. The ones I really wanted were the most expensive ones there, of course, so I ended up going with what I liked just a little less but for a lot less money. We were lucky because those ones were on sale so we got a great price on them. You can see pics of the tiles here and here. The floor that actually goes with those is almost the same as the larger tiles. I saw floor tiles I liked which were the same color as the darkish brown in the patterned tile, but they were all sold out. Typical.. I went to a few other stores looking for them but had no luck at all. So I may just go with the matching floor tiles, or see if I can get the ones I want ordered.
I still haven’t decided on the shower doors or the sink/cabinets but I have until next Saturday to make up my mind as that’s when we’ll be going to buy them and bring them back here.
The guy who is going to do the work is a character and a half. I couldn’t even take a stab at his age but it’s not young, and he looks an awful lot like Willie Nelson only with extremely blond hair. He smells quite bad, like sweat.. but sadly that’s not uncommon here in NL. Blech.
He does good work though, from what I’ve seen. He did a bathroom over for the people on the first floor and when I went to look at it I really liked it. Often it’s the strange people you find through word of mouth that do the really good work. We had a few plumbers in a few months ago to look at the bathroom and see what it would cost to change some things and they were the laziest bastards! Half of them never even bothered to call back with the quote.
Xander is still playing WoW and now wants to get an account of his own. We have a second computer that may be able to run it so if it does it will be ok. No way in heck we’re buying a 2nd gaming computer on a whim though, not when we still have our kitchen left to renovate. It’s really funny watching him though, he gets so animated when he’s playing. He talks to the monsters that he’s fighting.. “Fuck off! No, get out of there.. hey stop that!”
I can’t imagine what the neighbours must think is going on in here when they go by…
