Ow Ow!!

I am in so much pain today :(

Yesterday I went to the shop with “Willie” to pick up some more tiles as we decided to have the toilet done as well as our bathroom. You see, here in the Netherlands it’s not uncommon for the toilet to be totally seperate from the bathing/showering area. So in our flat we have one room with a shower and a sink and another room with the toilet. Well, closet probably describes it better as there is just enough room for yourself, the toilet, a few mags, toilet paper and a toilet brush. In any case we decided to have the toilet done over to match the bathroom. We’re trying to think ahead to what we would want to see if we were buying this place and having a brand new lovely shower and a crappy toilet isn’t very nice. Not that our toilet is in bad shape, just it will look like it is now compared to the new bathroom.

Anyhow, getting off track. After we returned from the shop I was helping him take the tiles downstairs to our storage room and I don’t know what I did, but I did something because I woke up this morning almost unable to move. I don’t know for sure that the tile lifting is the true cause of my pain but it’s all I can think of. My back hurts so damn bad I could die. It’s in that spot where is so low in your back that if it was any lower it would be your arse. Ow ow ow fucking OW!!!!

Poor Xander had to come home from work this morning because I can hardly stand up / sit down on my own, there’s no way I could go out with the dog. After some painkillers and a few hours gone by I thought it was going to be ok.. until I bent over to put something in the garbage. More painkillers and sitting around a little while and thought it was ok.. until I went with Xander and our neighbour to the shop to buy the taps and showerhead for our shower. I don’t know how I made it back up the three flights of stairs to our apartment but I’m not moving for the rest of the night. I can’t get comfortable no matter how I sit and it’s more sore than ever. I hope it’s better tomorrow because I feel bad that Xander is missing work time taking care of me. His boss doesn’t mind though as he can work from home quite easily. It definately makes it better for me, especially now that it’s so sore, I really need his help getting up and sitting down.

Anyhow, the renovations are coming along nicely… Here’s a pic:

The plastering is done and the tiles are going up. It already looks tons better than the crappy yellow tiles and orange walls/ceiling that the creep who lived here before us had. I don’t know how we lived with it for 5 years, I swear! I still haven’t chosen a sink/cupboard or shower doors… I keep looking but the things I like are too expensive and the cheaper stuff I just don’t like. Maybe I should just say screw it and go for a curtain.. (So not gonna happen, they always blow in and stick to me)

Xander was thrilled to realize that an old computer that was collecting dust in the spare room is able to run World of Warcraft, which he is totally into at the moment. I’m happy to find this out as well as he’s been jumping on my computer every time he gets the chance and once he’s there I can’t get him away from it. So once again it’s Karl to the rescue. He’s going to pick us up a US version of the game and send us the CD Key so we can open another account for Xander. Then we just have to transfer the money to him. This will cut down on the hassle of trying to get an actual game box shipped from the US, which can take weeks. So now Xander and I can play together! I think it will be both fun and weird at the same time.. I’ve always been on my own gaming so it will be strange having him around. It will be cool though because I’ve always sort of been jealous of the other women who play with their husbands. He’s such a little newbie still, it’s cute!

Oh.. and he’s not the only one who unexpectedly enjoys WoW in the Soldaat household!!

Bailey loves WoW too!! :D
