Xander is on a warpath. He messaged me from work today saying that he printed off this month’s phone bill and it’s higher than ever. According to the rest of the bills he’s printed off, our phone bill has been steadily increasing between May – September. This is quite a coincidence since the frequency of my annoying neighbour (see post on Dec 9th) visiting has become more frequent since then too. It has really been getting on my nerves but I never really said anything because I thought it was only costing me my sanity and patience, but now it’s costing us money as well.
The bill for this month had 73 calls to mobile phones from our land line. Here in Europe it’s silly expensive to call mobiles from land lines, so when we have a mobile to call we always do so from OUR mobiles. The total of these calls alone comes to 25 euros . Not that much really but it’s enough when you think that it’s our neighbour, and not us, racking up this bill.
I have been getting sick of her visits for a while now. Once every so often for an emergency is fine but coming to the door almost every day, up to 5-10 times a day is not. Especially when it starts costing us. So we plan to tell her enough is enough, that she is just going to have to figure out a way to sort her own phone because we aren’t going to support her “habit” any longer.
*Edit* Just checked the phone bills when Xander got home. After deducting numbers we recognize that we called, she has charged 41 euros worth of calls on our phone. Man, are we idiots or what?
That’s INSANE! I’d make them pay it. Now. Do they think they can use your phone for free?
Are you gonna charge them/suspend phone privileges? Both?
Eh, maybe once the flat is finished and you don’t need to get to the hardware shops anymore… bet you can’t wait for BOTH to happen!
