Yay I was wrong! I did lose some weight this week, ok so it was only 2 pounds but still it all adds up right? I have finally hit the double digits! Wahoo!Yesterday was an awesome day. Xander and I got up and got ready to go to The market. We left at about 8:30 am which got us there nice and early before the really big crowd hit. It was bright and sunny which made it even better. As much as I love the market, it was never fun in the winter rain. We got loads of fruits and veggies for me, which will help when I am feeling snacky. I got some kind of melons when I was there too, they were yummy!! I took a load of pics as well, which I think embarassed Xander at some points but like I care. :P
Later on in the afternoon we went to the supermarket to get all that stuff you can’t get at the market like milk and all that. On the way back Xander got this herring on a bun thing, it’s basically raw herring with raw onions… on a bun. Doesn’t that sound tasty? I honestly wish I had gotten a pic because it’s by far one of the more revolting things the Dutch eat. Needless to say, no kisses for him.
On the way there we stopped at the pet store and I had this ingenius idea that if we bought this ball and put pieces of treats inside that would fall out while he was playing with it, it would keep him occupied for ages. A half hour after getting home Xander and I were stepping carefully around the livingroom while Bailey ran around like a maniac with the new ball, paying no attention whatsoever to the trail of treats he left behind. He did, however, go back and eat them up later once the novelty of the ball wore off. Do you think he made the connection? I doubt it… there goes that plan!
GAH ok I just have to stop this little “what I did today” blurb to say this. What is it about men that makes them so clueless at times? I’m just talking to this old gaming friend and he’s telling me how he’s depressed because he just turned 25. How it’s old… I’m sitting there thinking, is this guy for real? Only a man would complain about his age and not take the time to consider the age of the person he’s complaining to. Feh!
Anyway, where was I… Oh yes, so yesterday I went out with my camera and took a load of pics. Some of which were of kids. Simply because I thought they were so cute having fun out in the sun or just looked adorable. So I’m talking to a friend about putting the pics on my website and we end up in a discussion about privacy. Whether it’s ok to post pictures you take in public places without the consent of the people (or the parents of the kids) who happen to be in them. While I could see what she was saying, at the same time I had to wonder where it ends. How do you ever take pictures in public places without getting people in them? If you’re at a concert and take pics and the people in the row in front of you are captured, do you get their permission? Even though the pic wasn’t of them? If you take a picture of a monument and other people happen to be posing in front of it at the same time and are caught in the background, do you have to ask their permission? Is it more of a touchy subject because it was children in the pictures because of the amount of child molestation going on in the world today? Can people not do even the most simple of things without being suspect? I wonder what makes people so worried about innocent photos. If you’re not making any money off it, there is nothing slanderous going on, what is the big deal? I can see if someone followed your kid around and snapped 17 rolls of film, that would be worrying… but someone taking a snapshot of something they just find cute as they are walking by?
What do you think? I’d love to hear some opinions on these privacy issues. Do you think you should never post photos that have other people in them, regardless of if it is a public place? Are you of the opinion that if it’s a public place any pictures are fair game? Do you sit somewhere in the middle? Let me know! You can write it in the comments section below or drop me a mail!
