Seems that most of my news today has to do with babies..
Today I got an update on my classmate and her baby, unfortunately it isn’t looking good. She is doing fine but they have found more problems with the baby. Not only does he have this problem with his heart but they have been finding other problems as well. I’m not sure what exactly but I know one of them has something to do with his esophagus not going all the way down to his stomach. When Oxana was telling me about it in class today it took every bit of restraint I had not to cry right there. I haven’t known Olga (the mother) very long but she’s a very sweet girl and I hate to think of what she is going through. When I first saw her come into our class with her big pregnant belly I envied her so much, now I wouldn’t trade places with her for anything as I don’t know how I could ever handle what she is going through. At times like this I wish I had some kind of religious belief, then I could pray and feel like I was maybe making some kind of difference. Now I just feel so helpless and sad for the situation they are in…
On a brighter note! Kibbie, a girl Xander and I have known for years from #Ireland on IRC (Where Xander and I first met) is pregnant. She and her husband Tim are expecting a beautiful baby girl named Rylie Donne Jensen. She’s been keeping me up to date on their progress and exciting moments and today she sent me a URL for her latest ultrasound. It’s in 3D! I’ve seen ads on tv for the new Phillips 3D ultrasound machines and thought it was one of those things we first see signs of now but they aren’t actually being used for ages. I can’t believe the detail in the photos! Imagine what it must be like to be able to see your child in that much detail before it’s even born!! Kibbie and Tim must have been excited beyond words, I know I probably wouldn’t stop staring at that little face until I saw it for real. They are so lucky.. I hope they have those machines here in Holland when it’s our turn.
