My Dietician – Visit 2

Today was my 2nd visit to My Dietician and once again she was really lovely.

I’ve been keeping a book of the things I eat and she seemed quite happy with what was on there, especially that (when possible) I’ve switched things to low fat, diet, light, no sugar or whatever.

The only thing she said was that I didn’t eat enough on the weekend, which I already knew… both Saturday and Sunday we were out and about in our new car and I totally forgot about breakfast and lunch on Saturday and breakfast again on Sunday. So I need to make a better effort to have a good breakfast before leaving the house on the weekends.

She also said that I’m not getting enough milk in my diet. I pretty much only get milk from my yogurt or the milk I have with cereal, but I don’t have those every day. So I have to make sure to get 2 portions of milk each day.

Other than that, my diet is spot on and I’m doing well!

She was happy to see that my weight has continued to go down and commented that the ‘slow and steady’ approach I’m taking is healthier than trying to lose weight quickly through diet plans.

On the way home I was walking up the stairs to our flat when the older lady on the first floor opened her apartment door yelling “BAILEY!” (she loves my dog and always tries to catch us when we are coming in from our walks so she can give him treats). I told her (In dutch, GO ME!) that he wasn’t with me and he was upstairs in our house. She looked at me and sort of stopped and asked if I’ve lost weight. I, of course, beamed and told her I had! She told me that my face is looking much thinner and prettier, that it’s really starting to show.

I’ve never been so glad to know Dutch as I was right then I think! It was great to hear someone other than family say something like that, because I always assume they are just saying it to try to motivate me or something.

After she was done showering me with compliments, and I was done lapping them up, she handed me some treats for Bailey and went back inside her apartment.

I was so stoked I ran up the three flights of stairs, which just a few months ago left me breathless just from walking up them.

(I was still breathless mind you, but not – oh my god I’m gonna die – breathless like I used to be hehe)

It really does feel great when people start to notice a difference, and I’ve only lost 17 lbs so far… I can’t wait to see people’s reaction when I’ve lost more.

Today has been a good day for Project Fatass!

  1. That’s great, Breigh! I’ve not been commenting much lately due to lack of time, but I’ve been reading!

  2. A seriously large Well Done, by the way. That was quite rude of me not to say it, considering how well you’re doing.

    Keep it up :D

  3. If you’re still struggling to get your dairy in, try occassionally mixing in a sachet of (no sugar) jelly crystals to a small tub of quark. :>

Not every day, mind.. excessive consumption of Quark (and basically all dairy products) can lead to bloat and added water weight.

Let me know if you’re still craving cheesecake too.. I have a recipe for Quark cheesecake somewhere.

  4. WHOOOOT!!!!

    AWESOME!

  5. You are gonna be stunned by the reactions as you continue to lose weight. They will vary from people who won’t notice till you’ve lost an entire person to people who will notice every bit of weight loss. When I lost a lot of weight I actually had people tell me they didn’t want to say “you look great” because that was an implication that I didn’t look great before. Go figure!

  6. I think I should see a dietician. I really need to manage what i’m eating. I’m really very horrible. Being a diabetic i really need to pay attention. But i’m too lazy sometimes. well, all the time. :P
