This week’s photo hunt is Lines. I wasn’t sure at first what photo I was going to use but then I thought of this one. Clotheslines.
Here in the Netherlands we hang our clothes out off our balconies. There are 2 metal bars sticking out from the outer corners of the balcony and you string clothesline across for hanging out your clothes.
I just got out of bed and it’s quite cold in the house, it’s making me miss the warm summer days when I could sit out in the sun on my balcony… and hang my clothes outside!
Brrrr…

lol – literally lines! Loving it.
The clothes horse seems all too common here in Europe. Even here in Italy is the same. Man how I miss having a dryer, especially this time of year, when it takes forever for a pair of jeans or towels to dry. When they are dry, they’re crunchy.
I’m a photo hunter too. I remember my Mom hang her clothes on the line too. My Mother-In Law still does.
Hanging clothes from a balcony on a clothes line? I bet that is interesting at times!! With my luck, more clothes would end up on the ground than on the line!! Great photo!
Merry Christmas!!
That’s a great take on the lines theme :)
Great shot for this theme….and I LOVE the scent of clothes hung out on a line, as opposed to a dryer.
oh man i forgot about a clothes line :)great choice
Thanks for stopping by. I would for sure drop clothes here. A bit scared of heights. :) And basically clumsy. Great lines in the clothes lines and also in the railing of the balcony. Have a wonderful Christmas!
I miss the summer, too! Let’s not get started missing it this early in winter, though! ;) Great spin on this theme! Thanks for coming by my blog for a visit!
Hm… you must be careful when hanging the clothes, or you’ll end up picking them up from the street :D
I played too.
Merry Christmas and blessed New Year!
Ha-Ha I know about those clothes lines, ohh so well ;) .. In the winter , I use the dryer as well as the famous clothes lines. Seasons Greetings, Breigh, will bring back a piece of Canada with me.. :D
Great picture! It reminds me of when I used to have to hang my clothes out just like that when we lived in Munich. I always liked the fresh, clean smell of clothes that are air dried. Now we have the luxury of a dryer here in Malaysia (which is a good thing, since it’s so humid here, the clothes would never dry!)
Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas! :)
Hmm, interesting. Folks here (in the country of the US) hang clothes to dry but not as often as in the long-ago past. I do see it some… I usually only hang rugs, etc… We don’t use but rather a cloths line in the back yard =)
Stay warm!
