Hairy Porn Freaks

This morning I got up hellishly early.  I couldn’t sleep so I got up and was arsing around on the web for a while.    I had a quick peek at the summary for my blog traffic and had to laugh when I saw that someone found my blog when searching for ‘Hairy Porn Freaks’.  Omg, how did they know?!

Oh yeah… MERRY CHRISTMAS!! 

Xander and I are having a fantastic x-mas so far.   It is just the two of us again this year and we’ve been having a lovely time.   Last night we went out for dinner to a wok restaurant here in Rotterdam.  It’s pretty cool, you pick out all your meat / veggies and give it to the guy and he woks it right there in front of you.

It was totally yummy.

While we were sitting there I grilled him about what he got me for x-mas.  I thought I knew what it was (a compact photo printer), and I hoped I was right… but all his answers through me off.   After a bombardment of questions his answers told me that it was definitely something I wanted and that it was for the kitchen.

FOR THE KITCHEN?!!

The conversation in the car on the way home went a little like this…

Me: Are you SURE it’s for the kitchen?!

Him: Yes.

Me: Like, it BELONGS in the kitchen?!

Him: Yes.

Me (skeptical): Are you SURE I wanted it?

Him: Yes.

Me (still skeptical): Like, I actually said I wanted this thing… for the KITCHEN? 

Him: Yes.

Me: … there is nothing I want for the kitchen.  I hate the kitchen.  Why would I want something for the kitchen or that would make me spend more time in there?  You’re lying…

Him: You’ll see…

Me: It REALLY goes in the kitchen?  

Him: Yes!

I was crushed.  I wanted a compact photo printer for ages, ever since my friend Gail was visiting and showed me hers.   I was scared to death he bought me a juicer or something ridiculous like that and that I’d have to do that good wifey thing and pretend to love it, knowing it’s only purpose would be collecting dust.

This has been going on for weeks.   We usually don’t do the surprise gifts thing, we just find something we want together and buy it.  So this year was different and he tortured me every second since placing my gift under the tree.

We decided to open our gifts on x-mas eve this year, which is apparently the norm over here but I’m still getting used to it.   It was so nice though, the atmosphere was so much more cozy in the night time sitting by the tree.  I loved it.  We had x-mas carols playing and it was just totally romantic and perfect.

We got some really cool stuff this year.  My parents sent us loads of little gifts which we loved, including a new set of fleece sheets which are going on the bed tonight!  I swear, if you haven’t tried them yet… do it!   

THIS is what I got from Xander, the sneaky little devil!  After firmly convincing me that I was going to spend my x-mas day either juicing or blending, this is what he gave me!!!  Exactly what I wanted, how awesome is he?!

It’s a Canon Selphy CP720 and it makes photos up to 4×6.  It also has the post card thing on the back so you can print off photos and send them to people if you want hehe Love it!

I’ve wanted one of these for so long!  I want to start doing some scrapbooking in the new year so this will really come in handy.   It’s just so much nicer to be able to print off your own photos.   My husband rules!

Today we pick up our turkey from the butcher.  You can’t really get a decent sized turkey (or any turkey at all really) from the grocery stores here, so you have to order it.  We got a 4-5 kilo bird, so it will definitely be enough for us with plenty of leftovers.

This will be my 3rd time cooking x-mas dinner myself.  Even though it’s only for the two of us it’s still quite a task.   I enjoy the end result though and if it’s anything like last year’s Ramona we’ll get a few laughs out of it too.
