This morning I was sorting out my turtle tanks and gave our tortoise, Sherman (aka Sherman the Tank, The Shermanator) some food and water.
Unlike the aquatic turtles who generally swim for cover when you come near, Sherman isn’t quite so shy. Especially if you have food! This morning I decided to test my luck and see how he’d take to me trying to snap some photos while he had his breakfast.
He obviously didn’t care what I did, as long as I didn’t get in between him and his food. That seems to be a common theme among the pets in this house… as long as we keep them fed, they don’t give a crap what we do or where we go.
Aaaah, feel the love!
Hi,
I don’t know you at all, but im in a similar situation and was wondering whether you could give me some information. My relationship is the other way around, my husband is Canadian (from Calgary), im Dutch. We met online as well and after 2 years of flying back and forth – long distance relationship – he moved to the Netherlands last May.
He got here with a working holiday programme, maybe youve heard of it? Anyway it expires this May and the immigrationservice wont extend my husbands permit in spite of the fact that he has a good job at an American company. The fact that we’re married doesnt change this cause im a student and cant meet the income requirement set by the immigrationservice. My question is: with which permit were you able to stay? We’re planning on moving back to Calgary on the 15th of May and have applied for my permit already, based on sponsorship by my husband. But if we’d have a way to stay we’d probably stay here for a couple more years. I hope you’re willing to reply to this mail/comment, its difficult to find Canadians around our place, we live in the South, near Maastricht.
Anyway thanks in advance and kind regards,
Romy and Curtis Yourex
lol him opening his mouth to eat is the cutest thing I ever seen! That made me want to get a turtle :)
Yeah, I never really feel much love from my desert tortoise. Food rules for him followed closely by the heat lamp or the sun. They’re sooo cute when they’re that tiny. I don’t even remember mine like that, I was too small myself.
Cool photos! Sherman looks like an excellent pet. Why is it that a head like that makes me freak out when it’s attached to a snake, but put a shell over it, and it’s awwwww cuuuuute!
Ooh, sherman makes me want turtles more. :)
LOL aww…
My friend has a Russian box turtle? (I think) and she says that he absolutely loves bananas. She said that she can no longer wear banana hand cream because he will bite her. When she feeds him bananas the turtle will literally run after it. I think her tortoise is fairly big, but I have not seen it yet.
Love the way you laid these photos out.
