My Second Day in Canada

I’m so behind on these updates but I’m enjoying my time away too much to spend time behind my computer. I can’t believe a week has gone by already! My cold is almost gone, all I have left is that annoying ‘tickle’ cough which usually stays with me for ages. I don’t mind though, I have a lot to take my mind off it.

On Saturday we went out to do a bit of shopping. My dad and Xander found the Halloween costumes and couldn’t stop themselves from trying them out.

This photo is what they did after I told them to do something scary. I don’t know if anyone would really be frightened by this… weirdos.

I spent ages walking around the Atlantic Superstore looking at all the different food items. I’ve forgotten how huge everything is here! Even the cereal boxes are massive compared to the ones back home. I also loved all the fat free, calorie-wise and other diet friendly foods they have. I’ve already stocked up on a lot of things like fat free pudding and different low fat salad dressings. Ok, and some not so diet friendly stuff too, but I’m on vacation, leave me alone!

hh1 After dinner we went to this cheesy little haunted house thing they had up at the exhibition grounds. It was only $2 to get in and only took about 5 minutes to go through but it was cute I guess. I spent most of the time taking pics and messing about with my camera.

It was a shame really because I think the proceeds from the haunted house go to the Autistic Society and they had hoped for it to be a lot better but they didn’t get the volunteers.   I was listening to my father talking to one of the men who was working there and he said they put ads in the paper and all over the place and only had FOUR people volunteer to help out with it!   All of the people who were dressed up and trying to do the scary stuff were kids and you could tell it was just sort of thrown together quickly.   There seemed to be a lot of people though so hopefully they got a decent amount to give to the cause.

On Saturday evening some friends of mine had a party. I thought it was a party that was just sort of happening and we were invited but when we got there the hostess told me that the party was for me! Pretty awesome, huh? I got to see some old friends and meet some new people as well, and I think I even found a cousin there I didn’t know about! It was quite multinational as well. One of the girls was from Chile and another one was from the UK but grew up in the Netherlands! They are everywhere, I swear!

You can see Xander in the last photo, he spent almost the entire evening chatting with the eye surgeon girl from Chile, maybe I should be worried! hehe I can’t blame him though, she was really friendly and interesting to talk to, plus… I was sort of in my own world catching up with my friends. I’m glad that he is able to mix and mingle.

Today we are off to the Cabot Trail…  I’ll be back with more updates soon(ish).
