Today I saw the first snow of the year. YAAAY!! I’m a happy Canadian!
Well, I did see snow when I was in Canada but that’s different, you expect snow in Canada. Sometimes entire winters go by without us seeing any snow at all here in Holland, so when we do get it, we make the most of it because it rarely lasts more than a day.
This afternoon I went into town to meet some of the girls for lunch. It was so nice riding the tram into town and seeing different parts of the city covered in snow. Even the crappy neighbourhoods looked nice during days like today.
It was strange because it seemed to be worse in some areas of the city than others. It was really bizarre. Near my house (where I was in the pic above) the trees were white and the grass was frosted, but more towards town it was snowing pretty hard and everything was white, then when I got into the city center there was no snow at all. Sometimes the weather here confuses the crap out of me.
The Netherlands is so beautiful when things get frosty and snowy, I can only imagine how nice Kinderdijk must look on days like this. Maybe the next snowy day we get I will get Xander to take me there for some frosty winter photos… but for now I’m going to stay here curled up under my blanket in front of the Christmas tree.
It was the same here in Enschede..it was sooo nice to wake up to a beautiful winter wonderland :o)
Tammy,
You captured a great shot of that tree-lined street…Thanks for sharing.
