Surrounded

Every year my husband and I decide what we are going to get for Christmas.  One year we tried doing the surprise gift thing and we didn’t like it much, we prefer our method of just saying what we want and going to get it.   That way we are 100% sure we will like what we get.   I guess some people would think it’s not very romantic, but whatever… it works for us.

One thing we got for ourselves was the new fireplace and when my parents sent us over some money and told us to get something nice for ourselves, this is what we decided to get.

It’s a home cinema system, you know, a surround sound thing!  The great part about it is that it plays DIVX, which is pretty much essential in a house where mostly everything you watch is downloaded.

Another reason we got it is because we keep our TV in a wooden cabinet and it really screws with the sound because the speakers are in enclosed and if you turn the sound up to be able to actually hear it, the sound vibrates in the cupboard.   That makes it impossible to get the full enjoyment from whatever we are watching.

The surround sound was a great choice, and we are really enjoying it.  It’s made the whole movie experience so much better!   It does scare the crap out of me every now and then though.  One of the speakers is right next to me and sometimes I nearly jump out of my skin because I think I hear someone behind me!   I’ll get used to it though I’m sure.
