That’s the title of this article about Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau. She spent 7.5 years in jail after admitting to having a relationship with a 12 year old student. Now after all those years the two of them have been married. Woah.. I was surprised when I saw this article, I mean I figured these two were old news. Their relationship was a media frenzy back in the 90’s and now they are married with two children. Shocking..
Xander’s mother left Sunday and it’s so weird having just the two of us here now. We got so much done here that we wouldn’t have if she hadn’t come here, she was so helpful and fun. I am normally the type who is ready for people to leave just a few hours after they arrive, but she was here for a week and I loved it. I felt totally comfortable, I wasn’t nervous or weird like I am when some other people visit. She probably could have stayed for ages without me getting tired of having someone here.
We already have plans for Christmas. Xander and I are going to get the train down to the south of France and spend Christmas with her in her new house. I’m already looking forward to it. It really was so great because for the first time I feel like I actually have what Xander has with my family, real family on his side. Someone who is supportive and really cares about us. We haven’t seen her much in the past few years because of an unfortunate misunderstanding, but that is the past and I think the future is going to be great. I can totally see us all having a great relationship and seeing a lot more of each other in the future. Xander is over the moon of course, now that things are going so well. Poor guy felt ganged up on sometimes though, when his mother and I agreed on something and he didn’t.. He’ll be sorry he got us to join forces! Muhaha!
My exams for this section of my Dutch course start today and I am Fucked with a capital F. I haven’t done any of the work, none of the computer work and I have hardly been to class at all. If I fail this section I really have nobody to blame but myself, or perhaps them a little for having such a shit method of teaching this rotten language. In any case I’ll just have to take what’s coming to me. If I have to go back to another group and redo this section, so be it. I will just be glad when this whole thing is over… I hate these classes with such a passion. They aren’t worth the 1.5 hours it takes me to get there and back.
In this region (Letourneau is from Washington state), that story has been big news since it broke. It was big news with each child, and also after the boy legally became an adult — because the media could then publish his name.
From what I can remember, her husband took their kids to Alaska so they could start over again and get away from the media attention. It must’ve made their lives hell.
