Yesterday I was talking to my friend Gail and apparently there have been some issues with my website being dreadfully slow lately. She said it kept hanging on some “nerdsonsite” thing, which was the counter on the top of the bar to the left that used to say “Currently Visiting” and then show the number of visitors on my site at that given time.
Apparently the Nerds have left the building, now nerdsonsite is quite nerdsnowheretobefound because my counter is gone and people keep locking up when trying to load my page. NICE!
So, I set off in an attempt to rid my website of this nuisance. Easy enough for all the regular pages, for my blog… not so much. I’ve been arsing around with it for about 1.5 hours now and it seems like whenever I change one index.html file to try to remove it, something screws up. The best part is that there is no master index file so it needs to be changed for every post, every category.. every everything. Which means I’ll have to go in and do it individually for each different post, which would be ok.. if I didn’t keep screwing it up!
One day my website will be free of these deadbeat nerds… but I don’t think that day is today!
