June is here and I have officially started my diet. So far so good, I’ve been getting up at 5:30-6am and going walking, and have even been doing my aerobics video. Well only twice so far but I’ve only been dieting for two days. I lasted 20 minutes with the video yesterday before I was red faced and panting to the point of defeat. This will get better as the time goes by. I need new walking shoes though, when I went walking yesterday it was like my feet were rubbing on the bottom of my shoes, even with socks on I ended up with really sore feet. Not sore like achy, but they sting.. like carpet burn. Ugh!I have to go to town to buy a scale, so I can weigh myself each week and find out what I’ve lost. I’m actually pretty excited about the whole dieting/losing weight thing this time. Maybe that will make the difference? Xander came home yesterday and I was in the livingroom hopping around to my aerobics dvd. I could tell by the look on his face that he was surprised and a bit weirded out by it. Guess he’s used to walking in and seeing me behind the computer.
Otherwise not a thing has been new here. I’ve just been catching up on laundry and hanging out, back to normal life. Still not sure what I’m going to do about that dreadful job of mine. I am about 95% sure I’m not going to go back, I just can’t handle the stress of it. Not of having to work, but of hating the job itself so much. I may just apply for something like housekeeping at some hotels or something. Where I can just go and work, do my thing and leave. Or maybe I’ll try at some factories or something. All I know is that call center jobs suck to begin with usually, market research DEFINATELY sucks!
The weather has been pretty crappy yesterday and today. Grey and rainy again. It makes me just want to curl up in bed and snooze the day away. Of course, yesterday when I crawled into bed for a nap I didn’t feel like such a lazyass cuz I’m actually exercising and being more active in the day, which is cool.
Movie Review – Spartan
The night before last Xander and I watched Spartan. After watching the trailor I had really high hopes for this movie. It looked interesting and full of action. Well, after watching it, it was full of action alright but it really wasn’t that interesting at all. I felt like I started watching the movie part way through, like I missed something. They really didn’t make you feel like you knew the characters at all. Val Kilmer was ok but his character lacked depth, as did most others. The story was weak and seemed thrown together. There was action but it didn’t keep you on the edge of your seat because you didn’t care about the characters enough. It was like flicking through the channels and stopping for five minutes during the middle of Jake and the Fat Man or something. You don’t really take anything in. So, I say this is a movie to watch if you want to pass the time and do some braindead movie watching, but that’s about it. Click on the image for Reviews & Trailers
Book Review – The Jester by James Patterson & Andrew Gross
I just finished this book last night and to be honest, when I first got this book I didn’t really read the back very carefully. I knew it was written by James Patterson, who had also written Kiss the girls and Along Came a Spider so I figured it must be good! When I actually started reading it and realized it was in the 11th Century in France during the Crusades I kind of groaned and though, oh yeah well this will be boring! It wasn’t boring at all, in fact I flew through this book! Hugh, the main character, has such a strong personality that you just fall in love with him from the start. The book has a little bit of everything, but not too much of any one thing. It is filled with action, comedy, romance and sadness. I thought it was quite a good read and would definately suggest it.
