I can’t sleep and this is why. It’s 15 degrees outside with humdity of 94% and not a breath of air. It may as well be 40 degrees. Together with the lack of screens in this country, this is the result.. mosquito bites, and lots of them. This is just one of the bites I got while trying to sleep tonight. Multiply that by about 15 (no I’m not exaggerating) and you’ll have a good idea of why I’m awake at the moment. This happens every summer, we tack up screen material in the windows but they still get in, I don’t know how. They are at the top of my “What I Hate” list at the moment, even higher than my sore ass. *Yawn* I’m so sleepy…I know people go on about how everything in life has a purpose. Do mosquitos really have a purpose? I can’t imagine how anything in life would decline if all mosquitos were wiped from the face of the planet. I don’t know what gets me more, the bites and itching or that irritating buzzing noise around your ear while you try to sleep.
So, now I’ll have to wait until the sun starts coming up and I’m so tired that it doesn’t matter how much I get bitten, I’ll just sleep through it. I shouldn’t complain too much though… I’ve made it this far into the summer without much problem. Thank god for the few weeks of cool, non mosquito-friendly weather we had the last while.
