Today I decided to skip the computer part of my class. I’m already ahead and have nothing to do. It’s ok though because they don’t even keep track of who is there for the first half of the morning. I’ll go for the second half and then Xander is going to pick me up from school and we’re going to go see if the new Subway is open in the city center! This will be only the 2nd time I’ve had Subway since I’ve been living in NL and I must say I’m pretty damn excited to have one here in Rotterdam finally. I mean subs are delicious and depending what you get on them they aren’t that unhealthy! I took this picture from my balcony this morning, I think it gives a good view of how the fall/winter Dutch weather has officially begun. In the two hours I’ve been awake it’s been dark and windy, sunny, rainy, grey and windy, hailing, sunny, raining, etc. I have no idea what I’m going to wear to school today, if I wear too little I’ll freeze, if I wear too much I’ll roast. Holland is definately a country that favors layering! The “grey seasons” aren’t really getting to me this year. In the past years I’ve always gotten really glum when the weather was consistantly crappy. I’m really happy to see that it’s not having the same affect this year.
I’ve found an entirely new category of people who irritate the hell out of me. The Pen Clickers!! Since I’ve been in school my brain has almost cracked with frustration at least 3-4 times as I sat trying to listen to my teacher over the sound of one of my classmates constantly clicking their pen. You know, pressing the little button at the top, then releasing it.. over.. and over… and over.. I could see that other people around me were equally annoyed. Maybe I’ll buy a box of pencils and hand them out in school.. or maybe pens with caps rather than clicky ones. I’m sure they’d get the hint then. Sometmes I sit there and imagine myself doing these ninja style moves where I throw my pen from across the room, successfully knocking their pen out of their hand.. then I am the hero of class B1I.
