A while ago I wrote about the best day of summer 1996, well this is definately going down in the books as the BEST DAY OF SUMMER 2006!! w00t!!!
Today Xander started with a new company and this is one of the perks:

A quick little back story for those of you who are visiting for the first time.
I’m Canadian, we drive.
I moved to the Netherlands, they bike.
That sucked.
For a whole 7 years.
7 years of screaming about fucking busses, fucking trains and goddamn fucking trams… it’s over… it’s all over. We have a car!
No more getting groceries and carrying them on our backs.
No more paying extra to have groceries delivered so we don’t HAVE to take them on our backs.
We have a car… My days of no car bitching are over.
Yes I’ll still have to ride the fucking busses, fucking trains and goddamn fucking trams… but not all the time, and I’m ok with that!
It’s a 2006 Renault Clio and it’s so nice! It’s only ours for 2 months, which is Xander’s trial period with the new company. Once the trial period is over we choose a car to lease and get that from the company. This certainly will do in the meantime!
Oh, and it has air conditioning. I love it so much I think I’m going to sneak out after everyone is asleep and hump it… just a little.
God, I’m so happy right now I could wet myself.

congratulations on the car and xanders new job.i feel soo touched by your happiness you almost made me cry.enjoy it ,it always makes a lot of difference ,escpecially with the shopping ,going to the beach in the hague or just cruising around holland on weekends and getting lost ,haha.

I *LOVE* driving. I would never do it in Hong Kong. Insane there, but being here in Brisbane, I get to drive like a mad woman. Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh….

I totally understand how you feel. Living in japan, there was so not a reason to drive a car, but I mean you could. but everyone walks (ugh) or bikes there. and uses the train. When I bought my car, i was in heaven! i had to drive everywhere. :)

It will certainly make life alittle biut easier to go places and taking big packages home. Congrats on the car and xander’s new job, hope it works out and the car will def come in very handy.
