Yes folks, my Reality TV addiction is still going strong… much to Xander’s dismay because I keep saying “omg watch this!”, when he really doesn’t want to.
One of my latest favorites has been So You Think You Can Dance which I guess you could describe as the American Idol for dancers… only better.
I love American Idol, but I love SYTYCD much more. I think it’s because it’s more pleasant to watch. The judges are critical but not cruel and the show has a much more pleasant feel to it… like it’s not one of those reality shows like American Idol or Hell’s Kitchen that people watch for the entertainment value of watching people get verbally slayed and ridiculed. The judges of SYTYCD are dancers themselves and they are there to advise and nurture rather than tear them down, and I like that a lot.
I think I find the dancing a little more exciting to watch than the singing too, especially the hip hop. The other styles are good too but the I loooove the hip hop routines and if I was a dancer I would definately want Shane Sparks doing my choreography. Not just because he’s hot (which he soooo is) but because his routines are consistantly the best ones on the show… with Mia’s coming in a very close second.
Here is an example of Shane Sparks choreography. The routine he did for Benji and Travis in the final dance-off of the season, it’s fantastic!

I think it’s funny how the routine sort of reflects what has gone on with these two guys. I mean let’s face it, when you look at guys from last season like Blake McGrath (warning – music on site) and Nick Lazzarini, these season 2 guys aren’t exactly on the same level looks-wise.
Yet, they seem to have still become sex symbols of sorts… the chicks are screaming and falling at their feet even though at the beginning of the season they were the more geeky and awkward guys on the show, especially next to guys like Musa Cooper.
I love how that routine started out with them being all nerdy and then turned into this hot hip hop routine that screams – HOW YA LIKE ME NOW?!

WOW so basically this made my day i was looking for this to show sum peeps at school and yay thanks to u i found it! if there is ne way u could upload somehow or tell me where i could find online the dance that Travis and Heidi did on the bench with the flower that would be super awesome!!!

I love So You Think You Can Dance too! I love American Idol but in a way So You Think You Can Dance is so much more fun to watch.
