I knew it was bound to happen once I started using a blogging program but it didn’t frustrate me any less. Today I woke up to a pile of mails alerting me of all these comments and trackbacks to my blog. WHOO! I thought, people have been posting on my blog! Then I realized they were all from “me” and were all for Online Casino.
&#&@*$!!! &$&#!^%&$&!!!!!! Sonsabitches!!!
I had to turn off the trackbacks totally, go through all my old posts and manually turn trackbacks off on every one. Then I had to change the requirements for comments, instead of just anyone being able to comment, now people have to register with Typekey. Now I know this is probably a huge pain in the ass, but it’s more of a huge pain in the ass for me to delete endless amounts of spam comments. It’s really easy to sign up with typekey and once you sign up once that’s it, you can post on any Movabletype blog.

Yeah, that’s what Socar had to do as well. It’s becoming more common as MT gains popularity, so it’s not such a pain in the ass.
I’ve never had a spam comment yet (knock on wood), but if I did I might resort to Blogger’s commenting feature (now that it’s improved) and disallow anonymous posting. Hopefully it will never have to come to that.
