Hedgehog!

Ever since I my friend Shirley told me she got a hedgehog … or no wait, ever since I saw a photo of him… I’ve wanted one! I absolutely love these little Pygmy Hedgehogs, they are soooooooooooooo cute!!!

I looked into it but I couldn’t find anyone in Holland who breeds them and it was too expensive to buy one in the UK and have it shipped over. Yes I KNOW we already have too many pets but I can’t help it, it’s what I love. If I could I’d have another dog, two rats, a hedgehog, a tree frog and a couple of lizards. So in comparison, two cats, a dog and two turtles doesn’t sound so bad, does it?

Last night Xander came in from walking the dog saying “PUT ON SOME PANTS AND GRAB THE CAMERA!” …. Uhhhh ?!

Hey it was like 10pm, I’m allowed to not wear pants at that hour! I was still a bit confused though.

This is why he was in such a hurry to get me IN my pants and OUT the door…

OMG how cute is he?!!!

No, he’s not ours… well not technically anyway. I have tried to claim him but he’s wild so I’m not sure he’s going to take to it so well. Plus, I don’t want to touch him cuz I’m scared he has fleas. I just say he’s mine, cuz I’m a nut. I think I’m going to call him George, as it seems fitting with me acting like that annoying cartoon girl who wants to squeeze every animal she sees.

Xander has said he’s seen a wild hedgehog around our building a few times, but I thought he was just yanking my chains and toying with my hedgehog love… but he really does exist! I can’t believe he let us get this close to him, I was sure that as soon as my feet hit the grass he’d be off like a whore’s drawers, but he just sat there.

He’s much bigger than the pygmy hedgehogs but equally as cute!
