Oh my god… You have not lived until you’ve slept on fleece sheets.
Before you think (as I did) “No fucking way, too warm!“, bear with me.
When my parents were here in May, they brought us over a set of fleece sheets. The first thing I thought was, “oh gawd I’ll never sleep on those and they will take up so much space in the closet“… but my mother made me swear to try them before knocking them. So I did.
I first tried them just before the summer and loved them, but last night was our first fall night with them on the bed and I just had to write about it. It was like heaven.
Now, you see normally I’m one of those stick a foot out the side of the bed to keep cool people. I hate my feet being warm and I usually love crawling into a cool bed and snuggling up to make myself a warm spot. So the idea of FLEECE sheets made me think of nothing but sweat and static.
The idea of sleeping on a fleece covered PILLOW was even worse. I am always folding and flipping my pillows looking for cool spots and I thought there was no way in hell I’d ever find one on fleece.
Was I ever wrong.
I have never, in my life, been so comfortable in my bed. This morning I was in bed until 10:30am and had to force myself to get out. I wasn’t even asleep anymore but I was so comfortable and cocooned in my bed that I just didn’t want to get out!
There is something about the fleece that keeps you warm, but not too warm, and it seems to keep a perfect temperature of comfort. Also, it’s just soooooo soft. It feels like you are sleeping in a cloud.
The pillow thing wasn’t an issue at all either, because unlike cotton or flannel pillow covers… the fleece doesn’t get warm. It just stays a neutral temp so you don’t feel that need to go in search of a cool spot.
I am in love with these sheets and they will stay on our bed straight through until the summer weather hits again. Thankfully, my mother told me she got us another set, because I think after an entire fall/winter season of taking these off, washing them and putting them straight back on again there wouldn’t have been anything left of them come summer!
They aren’t cheap, but by god they are so worth it! If you haven’t tried them, do so… you’ll never love your bed as much as you will with fleece sheets on it.
Those of you who try them absolutely MUST let me know how you like them :)
I love how cozy fleece sheets feel in the winter, but I just moved to California and doubt i’ll need them now :(
For all that I’m surrounded by sheep everywhere I look out here I’m not sure I’ve ever seen fleece sheets. Probably because the only way to sleep in summer is to shower every hour and sleep on a towel under the air conditioner. I can only imagine what it’s like for the poor bloody sheep.
Well, being a bed FREAK – I’m going to check them out. I have to sleep in a room at subzero temps.. so I’m all about great sheets.
I can’t hang a foot out of the bed – something might touch it.
I’m absolutely positive it’s fleece and I’ve never been so comfortable in my life.
I *HATE* fleece clothing… whether it’s jackets or sweaters. I find them way too warm, they feel weird and they are SOOOO full of static.
The sheets are nothing like that though, they are so cozy and they keep a perfect temperature.
Seriously, all of you who are in doubt have to try it for yourselves!
You sure it was fleece? I just can’t see that happening. Heck I even keep the ceiling fan on during the winter with a foot hanging out the side from the comforter sometimes.
I would have thought the same as you – too warm! And I also have to keep a foot hanging out the side to stay cool through the night. But you made those fleece sheets sound so heavenly….I may have to go out and get some this weekend!!
I will look into the product….it’s not generally that cold here in So. Calif. but we do on occaision do get some cool evenings…I’m just wondering about the arousal factor.
My mom bought me fleece sheets about 5 years ago, and after I had them in the closet for almost a year, I was desperate for clean sheets after not doing laundry, I put them on. OMG – I thought I died and gone to heaven! The best thing I ever did for myself and have yet to buy anything else!
Cool in the summer, warm in the winter… just the best things ever!

I do the same thing as you, stick the foot out of the bed thing…fleece sounds like the answer. lol
Oh we love ours (Fleece sheets) we got them as a gift for xmas from dale and sherry and I must say I’ve never had a better sleep than with these sheets. Nice and cozy and was the same as you tihnking I’d never get to sleep and they would be too hot. I was wrong and have them on the bed now.
It’s been so long since I have seen 10:00AM from inside a bed I might just have to give this a shot. But, I agree with DutchBitch…sounds awfully warm.
Isn’t fleece magical? I always assumed it would be too hot as well, but it’s really not.
OK, I’ll take your word for it… but my first reaction is the same yours was… LOL
