With all the great TV shows on nowadays I can’t help but wonder how long this apparent underdog is going to last and if anyone else is watching it besides me and my mother.
There must be some though, because it managed to make it to a second season.
I belong to many different BitTorrent websites (which I use to download and keep up to date with all the good American shows) and I hear them talk about Lost, Heroes, Survivor and all the other hot shows at the moment… but I never hear anyone talk about What About Brian even though it’s a good show!
Ok, so it’s not intense and exciting, it doesn’t leave you wondering wtf is going on but it’s a nice show and the characters on it are great.
The basic story is that Brian (on the far left) is in love with his best friend’s girlfriend (the couple next to him). He is the only single person in his group of friends and family and everyone is pressuring him to find a girl and settle down, while the whole time he’s pining desperately after this woman and trying not to.
There are some familiar faces in it. You might remember the girl who plays Marjorie (the object of his affection) as the once-blond ex-girlfriend and baby-mama of Ephraim from Everwood. Brian’s sister (middle) is played by one of the Arquette tribe and the brunette just to the right of her was that crazy roomate of Felicity’s in Felicity. Brian himself is the hottie older brother from 7th Heaven.
It’s not a show that is going to knock your socks off… but it’s nice and you fall in love with the characters in it. It’s either going to fizzle out and die or become something great. I’m hoping it’s something great.
Is anyone else out there watching this?
I freaking love this show!!! I thought that it got good reviews when it debuted last year. It didn’t get cancelled, so it must have done okay. I really like it and my husband does, too.

I’ve been watching it. Since Felicity, I’d probably watch anything by J.J. Abrams.
Which is the only explanation for why I’m watching this and Six Degrees. I mean, they’re cute, but they’re not even close to Lost or Alias.
My coworker likes What About Brian? and I had meant to watch it but got caught up in the other show that you mentioned plus Greys Anatomy and Boston Legal. I just don’t have the time and feel I’m already behind in episodes since I haven’t watched any. It’s getting a lot of viral buzz though and there are some billboards promoting the show here in California too.
Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn’t get SKY or something, just so I can keep up with what everyone else is watching.
