Ok, I really don’t do politics… although I wish I did because then I’d understand a lot more of what is going on in the world.
I’ve always avoided politics like the plague, because everyone seems to get so riled up about it I figured I could do without the frustration…
Here’s a conversation between my husband and I this morning when he messaged me from work:
Blasphemer says (9:47 AM):
I think you should watch this, truly scary what is going on in the US: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5517942312906824233&q=brilliant
Breigh says (10:07 AM):
ok that’s scary
Breigh says (10:07 AM):
when is his term over?
Blasphemer says (10:12 AM):
soon but the law doesn’t go away when he goes
Breigh says (10:12 AM):
can the next president change it?
Blasphemer says (10:13 AM):
only if the senate agrees
Breigh says (10:13 AM):
I would be scared to live in the US
Blasphemer says (10:13 AM):
I suppose the president can declare all of the senate as enemy combatants and get them to change the law
Breigh says (10:14 AM):
hahaha
Xander for president!
I’m a political “avoider” too but damn…I’d vote for Napolean Dynamite before I’d ever vote for another Bush.
it is scary living in the u.s. … the shrub has been terrifying the whole time … and this whole “completely with us or you’re an evil undead terrorist” is getting more than a little out of hand.
:(
Ah, this little enemy combantant thing is no biggie. The President just has a little witch hunting to do. Anyways, it’s about time we had some laws to keep the press in line.
It’s a good thing for that 14 year old girl with the evil myspace account (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/10/16/teen_myspace_protest/) got discovered when she did. I from what I have found in other articles the Secret Service got in contact with her on Oct 11. If it was one week later, she could have won an all expense paid trip to the Caribbean.
I assure you, it is very scary to live in the U.S. 2008 is almost here, though..
It IS scary here in the U.S> politically, and the sad-ass part is that t hings have gotten SO screwed up that it’s going to take many more years than a single presidential change to get things even back to the status they were at. In a nutshell, be afraid…be VERY afraid…I’m not too crazy about living here myself (and I’m a born American!).
Nice blog, BTW…

I tend to avoid politics myself. First, politics is a subject that most people get very passionate about, so there’s no way i could join in their arguments one way or another – and to be honest, I don’t care enough about it (even though I know I should).
I guess I would prefer to keep my head in the sand on most issus. Not the best choice, certainly, but it’s what I know. :-)
