This has been the most dreary and wet summer we’ve had in the entire time I’ve been living in this country. If it weren’t for looking at other people’s holiday photos I’d forget it’s even summer at all.
I took this photo today at 6:30pm just before the 3rd thunderstorm of the day. It’s been like this since sometime in May… rain, rain and more rain. We’ve had the odd teaser where the sun peeks out between rain showers but nothing substantial.
I’m starting to get worried that we aren’t going to see the beach at all this summer and that we’ll just slide from one grey season to another. This is Holland though and the weather can change drastically from one day to the next. Sadly, the one thing that doesn’t change is the humidity. It’s either rainy and wet or sunny and wet.
I know, I’m never happy. A perfect day for me would be 25 degrees without a cloud in the sky and a breeze that follows me around all day so I don’t sweat myself into a dehydration coma… because if there is any such thing as a dehydration coma I’d be the person to fall into one and this country would be the one to put me there.
P.S. Darryn if you are reading this I don’t wanna year your crap about how much more humid the other 40 countries you’ve been to are. Let me bitch in peace dammit!
Wow that’s some dreariness. It just reminds me of typhoon season in japan. crazy weather. but at least during typhoon season it’s fun to go outside in the wind and such. (well I guess you shouldn’t do that but…what can ya do)
I totally hate it when it’s humid. I think the best times I had were in souther california and AZ where the humidity was never more than say 20%. awesome.
Keep hoping for that sun! (i’m reminded of the song, here comes the sun by the beatles… now i have to go listen to that. :P)
