Back in the Saddle

The other day I was feeling particularly crap and for some absurd reason thought that would be a good time to step on the scale. Uhhh, no.  Crappy feelings x100 when I realized that I’d gained back 25 of the 30 lbs I’d lost last year.   I was so disgusted with myself that something clicked in my brain and once again I am in full on PROJECT FATASS mode.  Granted, I have to lose that 25 plus another like, 100 lbs but Rome wasn’t built in a day, was it?

Yup that’s right, it even means I’m back on the exercise bike again and man is my arse sore.   I was on it for 25 minutes (5.5 kms) this morning and had to get off because my butt hurt haha  I’m not fussed though because it was like that last time too and I got used to it.

It felt good to be exercising again, AND to be losing weight.   In just the past few days I’ve lost 5 lbs just from drinking tons of water and being more active.   That’s the best thing about trying to lose weight, how fast it comes off in the beginning.

I’ve joined a website for people who are trying to lose weight.  It has all these handy things on it that keeps track of your calories, fitness, how many calories you are burning and has all sorts of different forums, recipes and articles as well.   It was a bit embarassing owning up to my weight on there, I’ve gotten used to just keeping that between me and hubby but nobody on there cares.  There are people smaller than me and people MUCH bigger than me and we are all there for the same cause so nobody is really in any position to judge.  I like that.

I’m a bit surprised after a few days tracking my meals.  Other than adding more fruit and veg, and subtracting fast food, chocolate and potato chips… my day to day diet is pretty great!

I’m hellbent on losing 20 lbs before we go back to Canada in October.  That gives me approximately 2.5 months to get it off.  If I get the 20 lbs off before then I’m going to reward myself with a comfy new outfit for on the plane.
