Yesterday afternoon Xander and I went to visit our friends Paule and Warnoud. While we were in Canada Paule gave birth to a beautiful little girl named Faela. I would post a photo of her but I forgot to ask them about it and I don’t want to put up pics of someone’s child without their permission. You’ll just have to take my word for it that she’s as cute as a button! She’s clever too, it’s not even been two months yet and she already has mommy and daddy wrapped around her little finger. I can’t really blame them though, we were only there for a few hours and she completely owned me as well.
I can post pics of this though! It’s the baby gift we gave them! My mother taught me some basic knitting and crocheting when I was home and I made this blanket especially for Faela.
I still have a lot to learn about knitting and crocheting but I really enjoy it. This blanket was made using Bernat Baby Coordinates yarn, which I really loved working with. I need to learn about gauge and tension which confuses the crap out of me.
I’ve contacted a Stitch ‘n Bitch group here in Rotterdam that I am going to try to join. I’m sure there is someone in that who can teach me more about it all. I’m pretty sure they are all Dutch so I can kill two birds with one stone and learn more of the language at the same time.

I don’t knit, but I do make apple dolls, and I’ve been putting the finishing touches on the ones I’ve made for my wee nieces for Christmas this year.

They’re really easy to make, although it does take some time for the apples to completely dry out.

Well that is simply beautiful! I’d love to learn how but there is noone to teach me that I know of and I am ot one of those people who can just pick things up. I cant wait to see more of your work!
Very nice job! Quite impressive I think for just learning. I too am just learning and I am doing scarves but no way could I be as fast as you are!
