After me making that post about the Tammy Cold (scroll down I can’t be arsed to link it)… this morning at 4am I woke up sneezing and blowing snot all over the place. I had to leg it to the bathroom to get tissues, then got back in bed and sneezed my brain out for another while. Just long enough to totally wake me up of course.
So I laid in bed awake until 5:30am, which was plenty of time to grow frustrated with my husbands fish-flipping technique for rolling over… then just as I was falling asleep again the dog barfed.
I did manage to sleep from about 6-7am but then I had to get up for work. Oooooh gone are the days of not caring how long I am up at night because I can sleep all day if I want to.
Money… paycheck… productivity… money… independence … MONEY
Sorry, that’s just me reminding myself why I decided to leap back into the work force. Thank god I like my job and absolutely love all the girls I work with, or I’d be a very unhappy (and snotty) camper right now.
I’m hoping it’s allergies, because I can live with the sneezing if I know it’s not going to be followed by the whole throat tickle, coughing up goop crap. It’s gotta be allergies, I mean… I just had a cold when I was in Canada for gods sake! If it’s a cold I’ll know the world is out to get me. I go to Canada and get a cold on the 2nd day, then I get a job and get a cold in my 2nd week?
ARGH!
I vote a cold. You have entered the workplace, home of a million or two germs. Good luck!
I hate to be pessemistic (and a bad speller), but the fact that you got a cold so soon after arriving in Canada, and then so soon after starting work might be because these are two huge new (or revisited) environments and routines and maybe your body didn’t have the antibodies to fight off any minor bugs? Although I would have thought you would be more resilient to anything in Canada, having grown up there and all! For that, and many other reasons (such as the fact my highest medical qual is an expired first aid certificate ;)), my theory is more than likely completely flawed. Either way I hope you get better soon and don’t end up having to call in sick. Glad to hear you love the job so much you’d rather work than be sick too :)
