I keep forgetting about the photo hunt lately, but there’s still a few hours left of this Saturday so I’m not too late.
This is a photo of Seal Island Bridge in Cape Breton, taken from one of the viewpoints of Kelly’s Mountain.
For me, it’s always the sign that I’m almost home. Once we cross that bridge I know it’s not far to go until I reach the house I grew up in, where everything is familiar but somehow unfamiliar at the same time, but still so comforting.
I never get to see anything from that high here in the Netherlands. There’s not a hill to be found and as my husband says, if you stand on a phone book in the middle of Holland, you can see the entire country.
Yep 10 minutes past there you go by the “Lick a Chick” and Tim Hortons and you are nearly home!
Last time I was home and drove through Sydney Mines it was a bit like a ghost town.
excellent choice for the theme
Hey great picture i’ve got the same one that I took when Martin and I were home visiting. Mine is of the Seal Island in Fall which is beautiful. I feel the same way bout the” I’m almost home” feeling.
I was home for a visit over Easter but martin had to work so my time at home was short. We’ll def be making our way back later on in the spring or summer for a visit on the Cape.
Beautiful shot…just lovely.
I never know much about Holland only the dutch shoes. Today I learned something new… but your pic is awesome.
Beautiful shot you have here! Keep it up!
Mine’s up as well.

Happy Weekend guys!!!
I know how it feels when you see those signs that home is just around the corner. Mine is heading down the hill from the airport with the Georgia Strait opening up before me. It always gives me a warm feeling. Come see my high vistas from up the lake at http://PowellRiverBooks.blogspot.com – Margy
I can’t believe there’s a place that’s 322m here in Holland. It must be the ONLY point that high and just on the border of Belgium or something.
I demand we go there so I can see the proof for myself.
Well, according to the CIA’s World factbook, the elevation “extremes” for The Netherlands are:
lowest point: Zuidplaspolder -7 m
highest point: Vaalserberg 322 m
The Zuidplaspolder is actually a place in Rotterdam and the Vaalsberg is a place in the south of the Netherlands.

Nice shot! Good choice for the theme.
Nice picture! and wow, is Holland really that flat?
