As anyone who read my blogs know, I love my cats but they are evil and they make me crazy with all the crazy things they get into!!
So, I decided that life with them would be a lot easier if we could:
- Give them a place to hang out that is outside of the house.
- Have a place where we could put their litter box that is outside of the house.
- Give them a place to escape the dog.
So we put a cat door in the door to our front balcony, which is partially enclosed (and we are going to put up wire mesh like on the back balcony to stop them going on the ledge).
Now, we’re talking about cats who have managed to figure out how to open every door in the house and get into every place we don’t want them getting into.
Do you think they have figured out the cat door? uh, no.
I’m sure if we put the cat door there for any other reason and didn’t want them going through it, they’d have mastered it by now, but because it’s meant to make our lives easier and make them less of a pain in our arse they are suddenly as thick as bricks.
Maybe I need to put a nice new plant out there, or a nice black shirt I don’t want them to lay on. Then they’d figure out how to get out there and ruin them, I’m sure.
Oh, and look how much hair is on the door and they aren’t even using it yet. They shed more than any cats on the planet, I’m convinced of it.
They make me crazy. C-R-A-Z-Y! I think I’m developing a twitch.

Aren’t cats just amazing! Almost as much as they can be annoying! Gotta Luv Em and all that we do to accommodate them! :-)

Yeah we put their food out there now and get them to go out. I think the problem is that we should have gotten a door that was a wee big bigger. They don’t just walk out it they have to sort of squeeze out of it. We were worried about the dog trying to get out if we got a door that was too big.
We have gotten them to use it once or twice now with some urging, by doing feeding time out there so hopefully we can get the litter box out there soon!

Yeah, cats have a way of doing things that annoy you. I think they have the knack for it. and I used to wear a lot of black clothes. LOL not so much now. hehe.
But you know, you can’t help but love them!
Try propping the door open and put their food out there. Hunger is a great motivator.
