In an effort to gain self confidence and deal with body image issues still remaining after my weight loss, I decided to take part in a 365 project focusing on self portraits. My hopes are that after a year of taking a photo of myself ever day, that I will stop hating photos of myself, stop picking apart the things I hate about my body and learn to accept myself in a way that I haven’t been able to before. It is uncomfortable, challenging and at times scary as I am also putting myself out there in a way I never have… but sometimes personal growth requires stepping out of your comfort zone. So this is my project, 365 days of Self Portraits…
This week was a bit more difficult for my project. A few more evenings where I found myself at almost 10pm going “Oh crap, I don’t have a photo for my 365 project!” then just doing what’s quickest and easiest without really giving it much imagination.
I’ve been trying to come up with some ideas to make it easier and I think the most important are:
1) Try not to stress it too much and if it turns out to be a crappy quality mobile photo, so be it!
2) Try to have a camera of some sort with me wherever I go, especially the point and shoot with gorillapod for easy self portraits.
3) Try to be a little less insecure about taking photos when I’m out and about. I’ve been finding that I do most when I am home because I feel weird when people see me taking photos of myself when I’m out somewhere.
So that’s what I’m going to work on!

Day 29: Still sick, but at least now I have more puzzles!
Day 30: At almost 38 years old, I’m starting to become constantly aware of wrinkles, and wish I knew more about fancy skin creams.
Day 31: My daily dose of vitamins
Day 32: I love a freebie! Got a goodie bag when I joined my new gym. Quick photo, was too tired to put any more effort into it. My arm hurt just holding up the camera! Ow!
Day 33: My weekend with Tina Fey. Hubby was away and I finished her book, “Bossypants”, and marathon watched 30 Rock!
Day 34: Laundry Day!

Me at my new gym! It was almost bedtime and had an “OH SHIT!” moment when I realized I didn’t have a photo for the day, but I did have this! So I’ll live with the crappy, low light, mobile quality!
