In an effort to gain self confidence and deal with body image issues still remaining after my weight loss, I decided to take part in a 365 project focusing on self portraits. My hopes are that after a year of taking a photo of myself ever day, that I will stop hating photos of myself, stop picking apart the things I hate about my body and learn to accept myself in a way that I haven’t been able to before. It is uncomfortable, challenging and at times scary as I am also putting myself out there in a way I never have… but sometimes personal growth requires stepping out of your comfort zone. So this is my project, 365 days of Self Portraits…
In week 6 I tried hard not to put too much pressure on myself in regards to the image quality. I wanted to get used to just taking a photo a day regardless of what I took it with or how much imagination I put into it. I had a lot on my mind and with starting at the new gym I was also quite tired physically. I got through the week without it feeling like it was a hassle, so I considered it a win!
Day 36 – Getting ready to do my B12 injection
Day 37 – Straight home from the gym and into the kitchen. Thankfully I did most of the food prep in the afternoon!
Day 38 – You’d think all those stray hairs would drive me crazy, but they don’t. It’s my regrowth and I love it!
Day 39 – Post workout glow! Completed my first week at my new gym and am feeling great!
Day 40 – Ice skating with friends!
Day 41 – The same pants during 140 lb weight loss
2007 – 2010 – 2013
(In a horrible stall at the moment, sometimes seeing things like this helps me deal!)
Day 42 – Piercing people, I have a question! Those of you who use nose screws for your nose piercings, do you find yours always turns downwards and shows in your nostril like this? It drives me up the wall, but it’s the only type of nose piercing that I don’t lose. Is it just too big? Something to do with the angle of the piercing? Does it happen to everyone or does yours stay snug in place?
